Porsche has always been considered a top end marquee; the type of car that you buy once you have made it. A new Porsche certainly isn’t the sort of car that the average Joe could consider buying, as even entry level Porsche’s are out of the price range of most people. However, Porsche is rumoured to be working on a new entry level car, a new Porsche that will be more attainable for people.
This move, which is still only rumoured at this point, is believed to have been triggered by the struggling economy and the fact that Porsche is

Friday, June 19th, 2009Everyone faces the same problem when they emigrate to a new country; they have to sell their house, their furniture and even their prized car. It’s the same for us as it is for multi millionaire footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, as everyone is probably aware by now, is moving home from Manchester in England to Madrid in Spain this summer. As such, he needs to sell his possessions and that includes his cars, of which he has many. One car Ronaldo is selling is a used Porsche 911 convertible.
The used Porsche is a Porsche Carrera 2 Tiptronic S which
New Porsche earns efficiency award
Friday, June 19th, 2009The words ‘Porsche’ and ‘efficiency’ don’t usually go hand in hand with each other, and efficiency certainly isn’t what makes Porsche customers shell out tens of thousands of pounds on a new Porsche. However, efficiency is just what Porsche was all about at Le Mans this past weekend.
Porsche won the ‘Michelin Green X Challenge’ which is the energy efficiency classification in the Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance Race. The RS Spyder won the efficiency award at Le Mans, as well as the small matter of winning the LMP2 class as well. The RS Spyder completed 15 more laps than

Sunday, June 14th, 2009You might think that when a Japanese man earns a substantial fortune that he would tend to invest his hard earned money back into the Japanese car market; possibly on a Nissan Skyline or a Honda?
You’d be wrong. According to research, wealthy Japanese men prefer to buy German when it comes to prestige cars, such as a new Mercedes or a new Porsche. They’re the signs of success in Japan, not a Toyota or a Lexus!
The research was conducted by the Luxury Institute. They polled wealthy Japanese households with an average income of more than $525,000 on their choice
Do you want an 850bhp Porsche 911 GT2?
Saturday, June 13th, 2009For some people, the thrill of a driving a new Porsche 911 GT2 just isn’t enough. They crave more power, more speed and more thrills. In true Jeremy Clarkson style, the German car enthusiast (and well known car tuner) has altered his new Porsche 911 GT2 to output a frightening and trouser-tearing 850bhp.
Custom modifiers Switzer managed to modify a GT2 to get 800bhp out of it, so 9ff went one better and managed to crank 850bhp out of a GT2.
Just what does all that power mean? Well, for one thing it means speed, and lots of it. The new
Porsche has Ferrari’s number at Le Mans
Friday, June 12th, 2009One of the most famous car races in history takes place this weekend, the Le Mans 24 hour endurance race. According to Rick Mayer of Risi Competizione, the new Porsche cars at this year’s race have a distinct advantage over the Ferraris.
Risi Competizione may be the reigning GT2 champion team, but that doesn’t mean they don’t fear the roar power of the Porsche cars as Mayer predicts that the Germans will be too fast on the straights giving the five new Porsche 911 GT3 RSR cars the upper hand over the new Ferrari 430 cars, of which there will
Is Porsche looking to sell stake in VW?
Wednesday, June 10th, 2009According to reports from an unnamed source, Porsche is looking to sell its stake in Volkswagen in a bid to raise funds to pay its debts. Porsche, already waiting on a decision from the German government on a loan to save their company, could sell the 20% share options it owns in VW.
Porsche is currently struggling with a 9 billion Euro debt and needs to raise capital, which its share in VW could aid with. However, Porsche may not be able to exercise their share option. An analyst, Philippe Houchois, based in London stated:

Cash strapped Porsche asks government for loan
Sunday, June 7th, 2009Porsche is in deep financial trouble. The predicament that one of the leading car manufacturers in the world finds itself in makes a mockery of its recent attempt to buy Volkswagen, a much larger company. In the futile takeover attempt of VW, Porsche racked up 9 billion Euros of debt, for which it has approached the German government to help with.
Had Porsche managed to merge with, or takeover, Volkswagen it would have put such cars as Lamborghinis, Bugattis and new Porsche models alongside each other under one business roof. That dream has died however and Porsche must now fight
Porsche becomes Audi in new Transformers movie
Friday, June 5th, 2009The new Transformers movie, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, which is due out later this month, is the perfect opportunity for car enthusiasts to see some high performance models tested to the extreme on the big screen.
However, where the first movie (released in 2007) disappointed car lovers and Transformers fans alike was in the choice of the cars for the film. Every Autobot in the first film took the form of an American car, such as the Pontiac Solstice that Jazz transformed into (as opposed to the new Porsche 935 Turbo from the cartoon).
In the new Transformers movie though
New Porsche Cayenne Coupe to be produced?
Thursday, June 4th, 2009Porsche are noted for their sleek, curvy, fast cars. The Porsche Cayenne however isn’t quite the curvy road faring beast that most Porsches tend to be. It’s fast, of course, but it’s a large, lumbering 4×4 that makes the Range Rover look positively compact. A mixture between a 4×4 and a 911, the Porsche Cayenne wasn’t to everyone’s liking, but if reports coming out of Russia are true a new Porsche Cayenne Coupe could be on the cards.
Yes, we did say Russia. Not generally associated with great car design or car design at all, Russian car designers are reportedly
