Aston Martin Racing, the racing division of Aston Martin, has revealed that it’s considering its options for next season’s FIA GT1 season, the 2010 World Championship. Aston has received a great deal of interest from Aston Martin customers who would like to contest in the series.
However, the current Aston Martin DBR9 wouldn’t be able to compete in the new series because of the new regulations. This means Aston either need a new Aston Martin DBR9, or they need to modify the existing car to comply with the new rules.

New Aston Martin for GT1?
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009No new Aston Martin Lagonda
Friday, July 24th, 2009Fans of quality Aston Martin cars can breathe a sigh of relief as it has emerged that there will not be a new Aston Martin Lagonda from the company.
The Lagonda received universal derision from the car industry when it was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, with its huge front grill and ugly back end. Aston’s attempt at making a luxury SUV seemed to have failed miserably, yet they were insistent that it would sell and would be a success.
However, Aston Martin has backtracked now and says that the project has been shelved, with no plans
Weber says Alonso could be new Ferrari driver
Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009The ‘will he/won’t he’ saga of whether Fernando Alonso will move to Ferrari next season has taken another turn following the comments of Willi Weber, former manager to Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher.
Ferrari have insisted in recent weeks that they have two F1 drivers contracted to them, in Massa and Raikkonen, and that any speculation surrounding Fernando Alonso is purely speculation, he will not be a new Ferrari driver next season.
Alonso meanwhile has stayed fairly tight lipped on the subject, while rumours are rife that he will be unveiled as a new Ferrari driver before the end of the year.
Used Ferrari crashes at Ferrari fun day
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009A Ferrari fun day almost turned into disaster this past weekend when a used Ferrari being driven around Newbury Showground crashed into a tree. Luckily disaster was averted however as neither the driver nor the passenger were injured in the crash.
The driver lost control of his Ferrari as he was driving the high performance car around the track. The passenger of the car was a member of the public who had paid money for the privilege.
The used Ferrari burst into flames, and fire-fighters had to extinguish the fire before the day could continue with more Ferraris on the track.

Demi Moore enjoys Bond themed holiday
Sunday, July 19th, 2009Demi Moore may be a Hollywood A-lister, but even she enjoys a good James Bond themed holiday every now and then. Demi and her husband, ‘That 70’s Show’ star Ashton Kutcher, just spent their anniversary indulging in some 007 excitement.
The couple are huge fans of James Bond, and were very keen to try out the 007 holiday experience.
The holiday was spent in Barbados, at the Ocean Club resort. Part of the James Bond movie Casino Royal was shot at the club, where Daniel Craig played 007 and won a high stakes poker game.
A source close to the club revealed:

No new Ferrari, no Grand Prix
Friday, July 17th, 2009If ever Ferrari’s importance in Formula One needed to be proven, the actions of Ron Walker, the boss of F1 in Melbourne, has done just that. Mr Walker has threatened to pull the plug on the Australian Grand Prix should there not be a new Ferrari on the starting grid for the 2010 season.
With the F1 teams dispute with the FIA seemingly ongoing, the risk of some of the leading F1 teams, including Ferrari, not taking part in the 2010 Formula One season is very real. Mr Walker has requested than the president of the FIA, Max Mosley, stand
Schumacher to return to F1
Thursday, July 16th, 2009Having just revealed himself as being ‘The Stig’ on BBC’s Top Gear (maybe) Schumacher has been surrounded by rumours that he may return to the driving seat in F1, and not with the new Ferrari being developed for the 2010 season.
Instead, Schumacher has been linked with a switch from Ferrari to partner his old friend at Brawn GP. Brawn was the man, who with Schumacher, won seven F1 World Championships.
Schumacher has played down any talk however of him leaving Ferrari:
“If I would have wanted to work, I had the options, and may even now have the options.
But right now,
Porsche people break Guinness world record
Monday, July 13th, 2009A few weeks ago Porsche set out to break a new world record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, unlike most records you would associate with a car manufacturer such as Porsche, this world record had nothing to do with motor racing. No, this world record was for the furthest distance covered by 12 people on treadmills in 48 hours.
The record has stood since April 2008, and was set at 495.76 miles. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Porsche Human Performance Centre beat the record, notching up 539.86 miles in 48 hours. Each runner completed separate stints
